AnonVDI is a tech demo of a simple container based VDI infrastructure powered by Docker on Linux. Quick and easy to use, the images can be customized to include whatever software your users need.
If you think this works well over the Internet, it's even better if deployed within a LAN environment! This gives you a good idea of what to expect, so enjoy!
Whether you are here to try the service because you are considering deploying this in your organization and want to test it out, or whether you are here because you are at an office that blocks access to all your favourite sites, enjoy and have fun! Just don't do anything stupid that might make us decide to limit access.
Huge thanks to ConSol Software GmbH for open sourcing their Docker Headless VNC container project which we used as the foundation for this project! Also thanks to STH for publishing a feature about their work, which is how we found out about it in the first place :)
Big thank you to Arno Pol at coredump.ws for coming up with an audio implementation for noVNC and posting the solution. We've taken this code, added it to the Ubuntu Media image and it works great! So if you want to listen to some tunes with AnonVDI, Ubuntu Media image lets you do that!
We will continue to change stuff and add features, and might break this once in a while, so don't treat this tech demo as a production service, don't leave anything here unless you have a copy elsewhere, don't do anything confidential that should be for your eyes only. We do this for fun, so best coding and security practices don't really apply here.
Enjoy!
